Job Description
- Manage the accounting activities of the operations team
- Create invoices for project-related activities and Annual Maintenance Contracts; issue them to clients and end users
- Monitor and record payments from clients and end users, following up and sending payment reminders as necessary, Ensuring cheques collected are deposited in bank account;
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers as required by business
- Arrange payments for suppliers for Management approval and authorization
- Charge expenses to accounts and cost centres
- Maintain accounting ledgers. Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences
- Develop, maintain, and analyse the operation team’s budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs and expenses, often together with the Finance Manager and the COO
- Prepare, examine, or analyse operation’s accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
- Build trusting relationships and work closely with suppliers, government authorities, customs authorities, shipping agents
- Coordinate with Auditors for smooth completion of periodic audits
- Ensuring submission of periodical statutory information including Tax Returns and payment to tax authorities as applicable in coordination with external consultants if any.
Qualification Required
- A Minimum of 5 years experience in Accounting and finance roles handling up to finalization of accounting and reporting
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Good understanding of local laws relating to the business
- Having worked as an individual contributor (desirable but not mandatory)
- Describe which formal education (e.g. diploma, degree) and which field (e.g. electronic engineering) is required.
- University degree or diploma in finance & accounting
- Professional Certification from a recognized accounting Institute is an added advantage
